Im assuming its under review due to the fact that I have claimed my nephews whom I've taken care of since february last year because of familial issues so the review is most likely on tge EITC. My question is has anyone else had their EITC reviewed and received the other portion of the refund in the meantime or will i not receive any of it until the all documents have been processed? Also, how long does this entire process take?
People come to TurboTax AnswerXchange for help and answers—we want to let them know that we're here to listen and share our knowledge. We do that with the style and format of our responses. Here are five guidelines:.
Keep it conversational. When answering questions, write like you speak. Imagine you're explaining something to a trusted friend, using simple, everyday language. Avoid jargon and technical terms when possible. When no other word will do, explain technical terms in plain English. Be clear and state the answer right up front. Ask yourself what specific information the person really needs and then provide it.
Stick to the topic and avoid unnecessary details. Break information down into a numbered or bulleted list and highlight the most important details in bold. Be concise. Aim for no more than two short sentences in a paragraph, and try to keep paragraphs to two lines.
A wall of text can look intimidating and many won't read it, so break it up. It's okay to link to other resources for more details, but avoid giving answers that contain little more than a link. Be a good listener. When people post very general questions, take a second to try to understand what they're really looking for. Then, provide a response that guides them to the best possible outcome. Be encouraging and positive.
Look for ways to eliminate uncertainty by anticipating people's concerns. Make it apparent that we really like helping them achieve positive outcomes.

It seems a lot of redditors use throwaway accounts for their tax questions, so if you don't see your post right away, this is why. If your post doesn't show after 6 hours, message the mods. We try to keep up but most of us earn our living preparing tax returns.PLEASE DON'T SUBMIT QUESTIONS ABOUT SMALL AMOUNTS OF MONEY. $50 or less in income or deductions will likely not change your tax much, if at all.Being a jerk (condescending, rude, threatening, dismissive, etc.) will get you banned.Jokes should be kept to a minimum, as they don't add to the discussion, but humor can have its place.
I filed in January, on the same day as my boyfriend. We filed separate and he claimed our son. He got the earned income credit and child tax credit and his return hit his bank this am.Meanwhile, I got the eitc (I only started back to work in august so had very little income to report) and mine went from 'check back in mid feb' to the same message about it bring rec'd and processed. I checked my transcript online, and it said they started processing mine the 18th.Edit: I just checked my transcript and it is showing a date of the 27th for my return to be issued, so that sounds on par with what another posted said about holding til that date.
